Through witnessing the world and reflecting on my own experiences, I find the subjects for my work. Much of what I paint comes from what I see, where I live, where I work, and the places, interactions, and moments that stay with me.
These paintings begin as scenes drawn from observation but are transformed through memory. They are windows into my world, but also our world. Each painting brings together impressions of the visible world and lived experience, allowing one to shape the other. As the work develops, it often leads me in unexpected directions, revealing new connections and insights. It is a conversation of unrefined chaos that never actually ends.
