Scott Roberts creates a range of sculptural works from found objects and reclaimed materials, gathered from flea markets, estate sales, and off the streets. With a passion for collecting, creating, and constructing, he alters and combines everyday objects and materials into small, unassuming works.
“Exploring ideas of weight, suspension, strength and motion, I attempt to create a sense of utilitarian purpose with this work. Due to the small scale, materials, and industrial themes, these pieces often feel as if they could be models or studies for much larger works, again suggesting the concept of functionality”
Scott is a graduate of MICA. He maintains a studio/workshop in Bel Air, MD
